My compter crashed last week and I suspect that spyware was the
culprit. I can't even open my computer in safe-mode. I'm not much of a
techy, but if it's not too complicated to figure out how to fix it
myself, I'd like to give it a shot.

Symptoms-- when attempting a Google search, I was informed that Google
was receiving many automated requests from my computer and warned that
my computer might be infected with spyware. I ran Spybot and an adware
application, along with Norton Antivirus, but no spyware was revealed.
However, whenever I'd run a Google search, I received the same
warning. A couple of days later, my computer crashed. When I try to
start my computer, it begins to start, but then reboots endlessly, in
a cycle. I can't even start it in safe mode. Any suggestions?

Try with an online antivirus scan (free):
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

And with a trojan scanner (free online):

Let them fix what they find. Then tell us what happened and if the
problem was solved.
