Hello,

I am interested in finding out about Casting Directors and their
expected lifetime incomes. I understand that there are two segments of
casting directors, film and television, and within those two, there
are distinctions between independent casting directors (who offer
their services on a contractual basis) and in-house casting directors
(who are paid a salary and work for the production studio)

My question deals with independent casting directors in the film and
television industry, with a primary focus on film. To give a better
indication of what type of people I'm trying to get information on, if
you go to the Casting Society of America's website, you can get a
directory listing of their registered casting directors
(http://www.castingsociety.com/Members). This is the type of CD that I
am searching for information. Mind you, I'm not looking for CSA-only
directors though if excluding/including non-CSA members significantly
alters the results, please include both. Basically, the run of the
mill "few man" operations and the big name casting directors are what
I'm looking for.

Now that the class has been defined, allow me to specify the data. I
am looking for anything and everything related to the revenue that
these firms generate, the profits that their partners take home,
individual contract rates per production, anything that can give me a
better sense of the yearly incomes of these people. Obviously, the top
top Casting Directors make alot, but I don't know exactly how much. If
one could provide this data (but not solely for the top directors), it
is what I'm looking for.

Preferably, I am not looking for "the average casting director makes x
dollars a year. thank you". I'm looking for more: the ranges and
percentiles (yes, beating a dead horse here) are the key.

Special Note: I have done a salary.com search and found information
about Casting Directors/Talent Agents (the fact that it's the same
data for 2 different jobs is a bit questionable). It is my impression
that this income statistic is low, hence the reason for my posting to
Google. DO NOT CITE SALARY.COM DATA UNLESS IT IS TO SUPLLEMENT OTHER
DATA SHOWING THAT SALARY.COM'S DATA IS, IN FACT, THE EXPECTED SALARY
FOR A CASTING DIRECTOR, please.

So In Brief:

Looking for profit and revenue statistics for independent casting
directors for film and television. Ideally, I would like
percentiles/groupings (i.e. 2% of casting directors had revenues (or
profits) in excess of x dollars a year) or some other way to gauge the
comparative success of one casting director to another.

Excuse my lengthy question, and thank you in advance for your help!

Don't be afraid, I just wrote a lengthy question. The meat is really:

percentiles/groupings (i.e. 2% of casting directors had revenues (or
profits) in excess of x dollars a year) or some other way to gauge the
