Question ID: 544169
I have been employed for 2 months. Then the following statement was made.

"If you have been in employment for less than three months, you must
remain in that employment
for a period of at least three months."

So does it mean I have to be in employment for 1 more month or 3 more months?

Will increase the List Price or Tip if requested.

I guess the confusion here arises because "remain in that employment"
phrase does not specify from "when it must be enforced" must be
enforced. Is it from the date of beginning of employment or from the
date of the statement being made.

Hmmmmm... Scratching my head.

I guess it can be shortened further to this,

I am employed for the past 2 months.

"You must remain in that employment for a period of at least three months."

So do I have to stay for 1 more month or 3 more months?

This is exactly how it is written,

"If you have been in employment for less than three months, you must
remain in that employment
for a period of at least three months."

No 'another three months' or 'three more months'.

So what do I do? How do I decide? Should I go to a contract lawyer for this?

Hi cool919,

Since we are not legal experts, I am just giving you my opinion (as a
researcher). See the disclaimer at the bottom of the page.

To be on the safe side, I would ask a lawyer.

Best of luck,
Rainbow

Ok, how about this,

I am reading a book for the past 2 hours, my mom comes into the room and says,

" you must be reading for a period of at least 3 hours "

so do I have to read for a further 1 more hour or 3 more hours.

I would say you need to read for 1 more hour. :)

I agree, the best thing would be to check with a lawyer.

All the best,
Rainbow

I believe it to mean you must stay for 1 more month. If they meant for
another 3 months, it should read either:

"If you have been in employment for less than three months, you must
remain in that employment for a period of at least three MORE months."

or

"If you have been in employment for less than three months, you must
remain in that employment for a period of at least three ADDITIONAL
months."

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
Rainbow
