I am searching for a very good skin product line for someone who is
middle age (52 and perimenopausal), and want the help of anti oxidants
to help with sagging, sallowness, fine lines and helping give a
youthful, rejuvenated feel to my skin without breaking me out, or
drying me out. My skin is normal, dryer during the winter months, a
little oil in summer. There are so many good skin lines out there
that incorporate the different AHA's, etc.. I was considering MD
Formulations, MD Forte, MD Skincare, SkinCeuticals, DermaDoctor, or
Cellex C and even Dr. Brandt's line... but with so many to choose
from, I don't know which to begin with. I use these lines as my
guideline search but know there are some other product lines like
Freeze, and Kinerase. I believe it's important to stay with the same
brand when it comes to layering a moisterizer over a aging serum,
etc.. I also believe the basics to buy would be a cleanser, a
moisterizer and most likely some sort of anti aging serum that I can
use on the neck also, and an eye product. I don't want a skin regimen
that would be very time consuming each day, something basic but
quality products that are very effective. I don't like products that
feel or stay oily on the skin for a bit after they are used. It's
important that this line helps with brighting my skin, tightening it,
helps with the fine lines, keeping it from being sallow, and will take
me into my older years. I want to stay in the price range of all of
the lines I have mentioned above. I now use Cephahil cleasing,
Shesido Bio Performance Moisterizer and Aveda eye cream. I recently
bought Dr. Denese anti aging product line from QVC and did not care
for this line. I felt it made me break out, clogged my skin pores
more. I was hesitant to buy it, but relented and don't want to make
another mistake. I like gycolic acid in some of the skin line I'm
interested in but am not sure if it's best to use it in each product,
too much will be drying, so this is where my dilemma is. Can you
suggest a line that will do this, or maybe a cleanser from one line,
and the face regimen from another? Thank you.

A lot of what you're talking about is so subjective. But it also
helps to know what "real" people think of all these product lines, as
opposed to what the companies themselves say. A website that I've
found really helpful for skin care and make-up products is Make-Up
Alley. It's reviews and discussion boards of every product out there
and I've found good advice there. You can also post your question and
people will jump in and answer it. P.S. Don't forget you also
need a fantastic sunscreen, whether you wear it in your moisturizer or
not. I haven't used the Skinceuticals skin care line, but have used
their sunscreen and it's great. Actually feels like a mositurizer,
and has invisible titanium oxide.
(But now I use La Roche Posay's Anthelios 60+ with Mexoryl XL, which
is the best one in the world -- but hasn't been approved by the FDA
here yet . . .even though it's sold all over Europe & South America.
So you either have to ask your upscale drugstoreif they have some
hidden away -- or buy it on eBay or get someone to bring it to you
from an international trip. Don't get the Anthelios L, which is
availabe in Canada. That's a lesser strength. You only want the XL).
OK,enough of that -- here's the link to the website:
