I want to find a movie that was on TV in the eighties. I believe that
in was called "Chameleon". It may have starred Leslie Nielsen. It
was about a superhero who wore a silver suit, who was killed. His
apprentice uses his equipment to do something (solve his murder?).
The equipment includes a car that changes colors. I remember that the
car changes colors in a tunnel from red to silver (or vice versa?) and
eludes capture. I remember that the car shoots down a helicopter at
the end of the movie. I remember that the apprentice character has an
invisible cape and that at one point he is in an apartment using it,
and a woman asks "who are you and why are you wearing wall-paneling?".
The woman subsequently sets off an alarm, and the apprentice
character parachutes off of the roof of the building. This is all
that I remember, and I would like to know more about this movie. I
would mostly like to know who starred in this movie, if it is on IMBD
somewhere under a different title, and if I can rent this movie on VHS
or DVD. Thanks.

Yes! You are very good. Is there anywhere I can beg, buy, borrow, or
steal this show?

Hello rjnfc,

I?m pleased to have found the movie you remembered.

The movie Chameleons was a 1989 failed TV series pilot.

Plot Summary:

?In this failed TV series pilot from the mind of Glen A. Larson,
Shelley, a slightly-crazy heiress, discovers that her eccentric
millionaire uncle Jason Carr was rather more eccentric than even she
had thought--he was a costumed superhero in his spare time, half of a
duo calling itself "Captain Chameleon and the Paraclete of Justice."
Now Shelley must find out exactly who murdered her uncle, with the
help of her uncle's mysterious and handsome partner in fighting
crime.?

Thanks for finding the right title for me :) I saw it at the 'video
addicts hotline' - I may have to give that a try. Mostly I am just
happy you got me a title I can see at IMDB. Their search didn't turn
up 'Chameleons' (plural) and I was beginning to doubt my own memory!
The fact that it is a failed pilot explains a lot. Thanks so much!
