Hello aoooo,

Honda's official information confirms what elwtee found. A comparison
of the Accord Coupe specifications for the 2004 and 2005 models shows
that "Illuminated Steering Wheel-Mounted Controls" is a new category
for 2005. Three other illumination categories -- "Illuminated Power
Window Switches," "Driver's and Front Passenger's Illuminated Vanity
Mirrors," and "Progressive Self-Illuminating Gauges" -- are contained
in the specs for both 2004 and 2005.)

this isn't gospel but i believe the illuminated steering wheel
controls were a new addition to the 05 models.

okay, you made me go look. the following is from edmunds review of the
05 accord, under "what's new for 05"

"Other changes for the Accord this year include new wheel cover
designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated
steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with
redesigned taillamps."
