My daughter is on probation and has been for 10 months and is req'd to
take a drug test twice a month she has never tested positive for
anything, drugs were not even a problem with her when she was given
probation, then last week she tested positive for THC, she swore to me
she had not done anything or even been around it, so, the first thing
I though about was the new medication the doctor had put her on since
her last test, it is a steroid call dexamethasone I could not find
where this would cause a false positive but while talking to my mom,
she said that she had bought my daugher some Aleve 3 days after she
started taking the steroid because the tylenol was not helping the bad
headaches she had been having when I got her purse from the jail the
bottle of Aleve was in there and in 13 days time she had taken 12
Aleve about 1 a day, I have read where this could cause a
false-positive but of course the jail nor her probation officer are
buying this even though she has not been in trouble with drugs or any
of the terms of her probation, does anyone have a good website where
doctors or universities have done studies on this so that I can give
it to her lawyer before her revocation hearing. The testing is done by
EMIT. Thank you for any help you can provide. Theresa
