hi all, this problem has been frastrating me for 2 weeks.
rig configeration:
cpu opteron 275 x2
mb tyan k8we s2895a2nrf (non scsi)
ram 4 x 1GB ocz4001024erte
hd 2x Fujitsu MAU3073NP 15k,8m,SCSI
Raid controller adaptec 2130slp

Hard drives were set RAID 0.
the problem is when i was trying to install windows xp 32bit pro, the
installation goes extremely slow, the "setup is starting windows"
takes me about 30 mins to go through, and each step before the hard
drive formatting, partition creating takes beyond normal time to go
through. Formatting process takes FOREVER!(it stopped at 100%, i
waited for 8 hours and still not finishing)

I tried to use an IDE hard drive to install windows, and it goes smooth.

i also changed a brand new scsi cable with terminator. and it won't help at all.

i thought about the hard drive jumpers, the 1st hard drive i leave the
terminator power open, which means " drive does not supply terminator
power to scsi bus", and i shorted the 2nd(last) hard drive with the
terminator power. however, i tried different ways, leave both
terminator power supply open, short; raid 0 and volume, basically the
bios and controller card's setting are default. and i also downloaded
the latest windows xp driver from adaptec. i changed other MAU3073NP
SCSI hard drives, too. none of them works. please help.

thanks in advance.

regards,

allen
