I have a passage from a book of essays and I am trying to identify the
original source. The top of the essay pages 74-75 show "Man and Man"
and "On Being an American" A quote from these pages include:
"This American Outlook grows out of the historic repudiation by our
founding fathers of the old world which they fled, with its castes,
conflicts, stratification, ghettos, and cruel boundaries between men.
We believe in a society in which men can move vertically from level to
level freely in accordance with their ability and horizontally mingle
unrestrainedly with their fellow citizens."
I would like to get the title and author of the book, along with
publication date and if possible where a copy of the book can be
obtained. |

I have the name or the author, the name of the "article" and the
entire text of the article. I beleive it was posted in a newsletter
or a newspaper and not a book, however, I am awaiting confirmation of
this.

this text appearred recently in a newspaper and I am looking for the
original source for the essay. I have a photo copy of pages 74 and 75
of the original book but need the name of the book and it's author
and publication date etc so that I can find the original source ,thank
