I'm looking for a database with employee turnover numbers for a large
number of companies, especially software companies.

Examples of companies the database should probably have numbers for
(although it doesn't need all of these) would be:
Microsoft, Google, Siebel, Oracle, Ebay, Intuit, Electronic Arts

These are just examples. I'm looking for a table or a database with
information on hundreds or thousands of companies. So, please don't
painstakingly hunt down each company's numbers one at a time.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

Gnu --

State and other associations conduct a lot of job survey information
for the industry -- but also charge for it. The Washington Software
Association (WSA) is touting its annual survey right on the web page
today -- but they charge $295 to $1,095 for it:

Having used it in the past, I'm sure that it includes turnover information.
