Hi eartoear, Hot Cherie was first performed by Danny Spanos in 1983 in the album "Passion in the Dark". Rock Detector http://www.rockdetector.com/artist,2153.sm The track is available for purchase on the CD "Heard It on the Radio, Vol. 2" at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000I5E0/103-8529470-7444660 Search criteria: "Hot Cherie" "Hot Cherie" "Danny Spanos" "Hot Cherie" "Danny Spanos" 1983 "Passion in the Dark" I hope this is helpful. I'll glad that rainbow could find this information. Because the Hardline version is more commonly mentioned on the Web, I overlooked the prior Danny Spanos version when researching my answer to your original question. |

Thanks for the info on the original being by Danny Spanos. I had taped that EXCELLENT version off the radio in 1983...and never knew who sang it. I eventually went looking for the CD and all I could find was Hardline's version...which is not bad, in my opinion...but is missing that raw angst and emotion feel that the original version had. I'm now going to buy that CD from amazon that includes the Danny Spanos version. Thanks. Sheri (Birdgirl37) |
