Dear Barryab, You do not state where you are located in world so I am assuming it is not in the UK. Neither do you state where you gained the information you already have. Therefore some of this answer may contain actions you may already carried out. I have searched for "robert cyril ingram" and "john lubboick ingram" and "john lubbock ingram" with no result. There are too many Ingrams otherwise for the list price you have offerred. First you need to establish the exact date of birth for Robert as this will provide important information on his parents. Therefore you need his birth certicate. This will give date and place of birth as London is too broad an area. It will also give you full names of parents, ages and occupations. Lubboick may be Lubbock. Certificates can be obtained by mail, fax or telephone from: The General Register Office PO Box 2 Southport Merseyside PR8 2JD England Tel: (870) 243 7788 Fax: (1704) 550013 E-Mail: certificate.services@ons.gov.uk Visit for more information visit: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/registration/general_register.asp Once you have his birth certificate you can try to find their marriage certificate using the details from the birth certificate covering 16-30 years prior to his birth and then lengthening the years if there is no result. Then you have the information on their ages. So now you can go on to their birth certificates. The earliest date for civil registration certificates is 1839. Another source of information is the 10 yearly census. Information on these and the information they hold is held at http://www.familyrecords.gov.uk The 1881 census on CD is availble through the Church ofJesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints http://www.familysearch.org/ Or there are several sites where for a small fee they will search the 1881 database for you. One example is the Nottinghamshire Family History Society: http://www.nottsfhs.org.uk/bookshop/system/index.html Click on search, then number 7 and enter the information. The cost is £4 However, I would recommend exhausting the civil registration route first. Of course, somebody may already have the information. Visit these sites and type in your family name and you never know you might be lucky! The sites also offer information on how to research your family history. http://www.familysearch.org/ http://www.cyndislist.com http://www.genealogy.org/ http://www.ancestry.com/mainv.htm http://www.surnameweb.org/ If you need this answer clarifying in any way please do this before grading the answer. Good luck with the research.
