I have allergies and am somewhat sensitive to chemicals....I would
like to know if the inks used with the Epson Stylus Photo 2200 ink jet
printer are non-toxic, in other words, would use of this printer in my
home cause an air quality problem?

Dear nerv-ga:

Thank you for your question. The latest material safety data sheets
for the Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer model ink cartridges are
unfortunately not yet available from Epson. However, the MSDSs for a
very similar model, the Photo 2000P, are available. A complete list of
MSDSs for Epson ink cartridges can be found here:
http://support.epson.com/msds_all.html

I have briefly scanned through a dozen of these MSDSs, and they are
all more or less identical. Of particular interest to you is the
inhalation danger. Here is what the MSDSs say for the color 2000P
cartridges:

"Intentional inhalation overexposure to ink vapours may result in
respiratory tract irritation."
http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/msds/t016201.pdf

The emphasis here is on "intentional." Regular use in printing should
present no risk.

I hope this helps!
