I am new to Manhattan: what is the best bridge club where experts go to play tournaments, and what evening of the week is the tournament with the most number of tables? Thanks! Patrick |

Hello Patrickquest, Here's a useful omnibus site for NYC-area bridge, including links to three Manhattan clubs. http://www.ny-bridge.com/ The three in Manhattan are, I would assume, all pretty busy and first-rate places. They also are nicely spread out geographically from north to south. Furthest north is The Cavendish Bridge Club at 177 East 77th (upper east side): http://www.ny-bridge.com/cavendish/ In midtown is The Manhattan Bridge Club at 250 West 57th. http://www.manhattanbridgeclub.com/ And "downtown" you will find The Culbertson Bridge Club at 24 Fifth Avenue at 9th Street. http://www.culbertsonbc.com/ I would suggest you take a look at each of these sites. From their contents, you should be able to determine which fits your needs best. And if you seek more information about which nights are a club's busiest and the number of tables, you can email the club with your inquiry and I am sure they will be happy to tell you. You also might want to check out this site, which lists a fourth club in Manhattan in addition to these three: http://www.gnyba.org/clubs.html Enjoy Manhattan bridge! scribe_ga |
