I am looking for the first person to import and sell new world wine
(e.g. Californian, South African, Australian) in France.

Let me clarify what I am looking for. Historically wine was
predominantly consumed in the country or region of origin. And while
wines have been produced in new world countries for a long time, they
were mostly considered to be of inferior quality than old-world wines
and thus it didn't (historically) make sense to import and sell them
in countries like France. At some point it must have ocurred to
someone that new world wines are improving and that they could build a
viable business by importing and reselling new world wines in France.
I am looking for the first person or business in France that
capitalized on this opportunity to build a business (i.e. not someone
who brought a few bottles home to sell to his friends).
