What is the difrence between horixontal analysis and vertical analysis
of a financial statement.

Vertical - same year figures compared (ie Net Income / Sales = Return on Sales)

Horizontal - different year figures compared for the same item (ie
2004 Sales / 2003 Sales = Increase in Sales for 2003)
