I'm looking for a 12V DC motor for a prototype. The motor will be attached to a crankshaft that will be lifting a steel plate that is pivoting on the ground. It needs to have ~30 in lb of torqe and be geared down to ~15 RPM's. The following link is a manufacturer that offers a product that would work, but they will not sell in small quantities. I am looking to initially purchase 1 for the prototype, and then to purchase in a larger volume. I believe I should only have to pay ~$15 at most for this motor. Note: although I am flexible in size, the unit should somewhat resemble the motor in the linked page below (smaller is most likely OK, but anything too much larger or ESPECIALLY anything longer would be a problem). Thanks! http://www.telcointercon.com/telcomotion/pdf/brushed/Micro%20DC%20Motor/PG-42-01.pdf I great answer will include the product #, website, and specific details about the unit. If more than 1 are found, information about the units that best fit and are the lowest price would be most important. | |

Hi I did take a look into your request. I still think that if you contact a local dealer you will be able to get a free sample for your prototype. Keep in mind there is always ebay http://www.ebay.com for surplus items. Also this site has surplus motors you might find interesting: http://www.candhsales.com You can contact manufacturers/distributors via this site: http://www.globalspec.com/ (email your request to multiple vendors in one click). Maybe you will need to supply additional data: 1: What is the annual usage? 2: Is this for an existing product or a new application? 3: Is noise a requirement (i.e.: Max Dba level, Sones level etc.) 4: When would production motors be required? 5: What is your price target?(given $15.00 ) 6: What is the duty cycle (i.e.: time running and time not running and at what load during the run cycle) 7: do you need a bi-directional or uni-directional motor? 8: If uni-directional , what rotation direction CW or CCW? An online store you can browse and purchase from: http://www.bodine-electric.com/. As for the price - well, the more you pay - the more interest researchers have in finding an answer. I hope this will help you. |

I don't understand any of the technical details, but Bosch makes many DC motors. Click on that at the left on this page: http://rb-aa.bosch.com/aa/elektromotoren/en/start/index.htm Here is another Bosch site: http://www.boschautoparts.co.uk/mcMoto1.asp?c=2&d=4 I chose the first one because it is labeled "automotive aftermarket", which sounds like one could buy an individual item. This one could also be of interest as it is for non-automotive applications: http://www.engineeringtalk.com/news/bsc/bsc100.html Here is a site that lists many manufacturers: http://www.engineeringtalk.com/indexes/categorybrowsedm05.html as does this one, of course, to give our host credit: http://directory.google.com/Top/Business/Electronics_and_Electrical/Electromechanical/Electric_Motors/DC/ I searched with bosch dc electric motor No, I have no connection with Bosch. Hope that helps, Myoarin |
