Hello tybop-ga,

Paul Wolfowitz was born in New York on Dec. 22, 1943. He has an
undergraduate degree in Math from Cornell University and he got a
Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago in 1972.

Since he was born in the US, I don't know what you mean when you ask,
"What was his immergration statas ... " I haven't verified it, but I
have indications that he was living in the Chicago area in 1968. He
also got married that year. There are indications that he had dealings
with Mossad in various positions he's held in his lengthy government
career but nothing to indicate that he was or is a member of Mossad.

You've posted a very nice price for this question. Please clarify what
type of information would meet your needs. The more you can tell me
about the context of your question, the more likely I will be able to
get you the information you need. Thanks.

It seems that you have confused elements of Paul Wolfowitz bio with
that of his father, Cornell U. math professor Jacob, and with two or
three mentors of Paul Wolfowitz at Cornell and at the U. of Chicago.
Jacob Wolfowitz was an immigrant from Poland, born in Warsaw and
settled in NYC with his family as a child. He earned his academic
credentials during the 1930's and '40's. He was a zionist involved
with such causes in that era. He joined the faculty at Cornell U. in
1951. Paul Wolfowitz earned his undergraduate degree at Cornell and
moved on to grad studies at the U. of Chicago around 1968. It seems
that a charismatic political science prof. Allan Bloom joined the
Cornell faculty in the early '60's. A tug of war over what field of
study PW would pursue was made legendary in a novel by Saul Bellow,
Ravelstein, depicting a Cornell U. math prof. father fighting a rival
for the son's academic interests.

Bloom was a grad of the U. of Chicago and was mentored by Prof. Leo
Strauss, a conservative political scientist. Strauss is one of the
intellectual fathers of the modern Neo-Con movement, with protege's
that include Willliam Kristol and Bill Bennett. It is Strauss who
revered Winston Churchill and made him a central hero in Neo-Con
philosophy.

Paul Wolfowitz academic studies heavily emphasized classical
philosophy as it links to foreign policy. Early on he had access to
national security work in the Nixon-Ford era and again during the
Reagan-Bush era.

Badger,

Interesting comment (thanks!), though I am not sure if the asker did
get the two mixed up.
