I use a laptop and want a wireless connection so I may use it anywhere on my property. I have heard that many such devices are unreliable. What is the cheapest most reliable unit to go for please? | |

My wife lived outside of London in a cottage there. She had lots of luck with this setup: Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router 802.11g Linksys Wireless-G PCMCIA Card 802.11g The Router is priced at 48.36, including VAT, from a reputable webstore. The PCMCIA wireless card is priced at 31.55, including VAT, from the same webstore. It's a good router in that it gives you four ports on the back for cables, as well as the wireless connection. |

Dear pietch-ga,
If you have a built-in wireless card on the laptop,
you only require a wireless router. I can recommend you a wireless
router which is wgt624 (netgear 108 mbps wireless router) if you are
using a cable modem, if you are using a adsl connection, please
consider buying a dg834gt (netgear 108 mbps adsl router). Both of
these device are cheap and reliable and will give you good signal
strength. Please check the prices on the www.ebuyer.co.uk. If price is
a issue, you can try the wgr614 or dg834G.
Thansk & Regards. |
