I believe that in the early 1970's, Leon Redbone and Taj Mahal did a
song together -- "Tain't Nobody's Bidness If I do". It was something
of a radio hit back then.
If I am not having a senior moment about this, I would like to know if
I am remembering the correct song,
what album the song is/was on; or, better, has it been reissued on a
CD, and what is that title? |

Are you looking for "Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do" or "Ain't
Nobody's Business But My Own"? (Taj Mahal recorded both songs; I'm
not sure yet about Leon Redbone.)

Well, my better half [ ;-)) ], has clarified himself to me, so I can
answer you both. (Hi, again, pinkfreud!)
It is, firstly, not a song done together. My damaged husband now has
remembered this important piece of intell. Second, it is especially
Leon Redbone's version of "Ain't Nobody's Business BUT MY OWN";
however, we also then wanted the Taj Mahal info, too.
So, the remaining info I need is upon what CD or album can I find the
Leon Redbone version.
The plot thickens indeed. Since you are both contributing solidly to
this latest obscurity in my quest for all the music I have ever
enjoyed/will enjoy, and have together completed 2/3 of the original
question, how can I pay both of you when our work here is done???????

I suppose that we can cross the bridge of who gets paid when we come
to it. But first, I think we need to find a Leon Redbone version of
"Ain't Nobody's Business But My Own." Like pinkfreud, I haven't found
it. That doesn't mean, of course, that one of us or someone else
won't find it somewhere.

Dear Pink,
You are correct. Once again, I went to the oracle, otherwise known as
my husband, with your info, and his response was,"Oh, yeah, I think
that's right."
So I then did my own research on any SNL music releases, and Redbone's
performance is not on the few that SNL has done. And who knows when/if
it ever will be released.
SO, I consider this question satisfactorily answered. Now what do we do?

Diane,
Only one Google Answers Researcher may post an official answer to a
question, but you have several options here. You can decide whether
this question should be officially answered by me or by justaskscott.
Or, if you want to divvy up the fee, you can do so simply enough by
reducing the posted price on this question, asking one of us to post
an answer here, and posting a new, separate question to the attention
of the other Researcher. It's entirely up to you. Just let us know how
you'd like us to proceed. Justaskscott and I are on pleasant terms
with each other (I hope), so whatever happens isn't likely to cause
any grumbling.

I can confirm that we are on pleasant terms. Indeed, just as Pink
submitted her post, I was composing my own post, which began, "I think
that Pink should answer the question." Since Pink provided the key
information (concerning SNL), I believe that she has the better claim
on the reward.

Ok. Here is what I have decided. I do think Pink got this one, so do
what ever you do to officially answer it, Pink.
However, it just so happens that I have just driven myself crazy with
yet another musical question, in my quest for yadda, yadda....
So, Justaskscott, check that one out, and see if it's for you. If not,
and I sincerely hope it is, I will remember you in future. I think
Pink can tell you I am asking questiions here pretty regularly.
Only 6000 songs on the iPod/computer -- so many more songs to go... LOL
Thanks! Talk to you both again soon, no doubt!
