There is a long-standing debate in the chat rooms about whether the
model year 2001 BMW M5 actually had a real leather dashboard as an
available option (as opposed to synthetic). See
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3054.

There is no documentation or official opinion from BMW that I can find
(or is referenced)that validates any of claims by the debaters on the
topic.

Can you tell me: Did the 2001 BMW M5 have a real leather dashboard as
an available option, or just a synthetic leather dashboard?

Do these pages serve to answer your question? If so, I'd be happy to

Not bad, but not quite specific enough. The BMW link provided does
not specifically tell me that the DASHBOARD is Nappa Leather, or is
not. I am looking for a reputable source (not a chat or bulletin
board log) that can specifically confirms yes or no.
