Where can I buy a carpet to be delivered in Erie, Pa. that is like
those shown in the Jacobsen Oriental Rug website, Rugs of sale, blue
Savonnerie KA8150 and KA8208 in size 12 x 15 feet for less than
US$3,000? Thank you.

The colors must be mainly a combination of wedgewood blue and ivory.
The length cannot exceed 15 feet, but the width could be as wide as 13
feet. The rugs are wool, hand tied and then carved, in India and
China. The pile depth should be approximately 1/2 inch. I am trying
to replace a KHALABAR wool rug No. 2.9671 loom size 12 X 15, design
9563 that was made in India that I bought in Erie, Pa 30 years ago for
U$1500

Hello!

I need some information which will help me in searching for the exact
carpet that you are looking for:

1) Web link to the photograph of the design that you are looking for.
The design numbers you mentioned are not used universally (at least
not here in India).

2) Are you willing to pay more if a custom design is made for you.
There are many carpet dealers in India. Although they stock a huge
collection in their warehouses, it may not be possible to match the
exact design specified by you.

3) I also want to know if you included shipping, packaging and
handling in the $3000 cost.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks,

Go to the website of "jacobsenorientalrugs.com" for pictures of the
rugs I identified. I would prefer to buy from a dealer in the United
States, but will buy directly from a dealer in India if he can arrange
to have the rug delivered to me in Erie, Pennsylvania. USA for under
US$3,000, which includes price, duty and shipping. There is no need
to pay extra for a custom-made rug, because the rug should be common
and I am flexible in my choice. In fact, I saw the kind of rug I am
looking for in the US magazine "Architectural Digest" a few years ago.
It featured the new luxurary hotel built in India that overlooks the
Taj Mahal. One of the rooms shown in the feature had the rug I am
looking for in wedgewood blue (blue/grey) and ivory with a geometric
pattern. E-mail me again if you need more guidance. Norm
