Hi,
can anyone here provide me some information about debating and
speeches club or school(which often class at night or during saturday
and sunday) in shanghai that is open to public to
join(similar to toastmasters). I know toastmasters have a club in
Beijing but not in shanghai.

1. English Oral Test - Easy & simple
a one-minute conversationa with one of our native speakers

2. Fill out the New Member Application Form

3. 500rmb of membership fees for the first 6 months, 200rmb every 6
months afterwards

4. one-munute talk up on the stage to tell us why you want to join the
Toastmasters & what you can offer us and then all the members will

Regarding stand-alone public debate clubs, I found none during my
research.  As far as educational institutions, Shanghai Jiao Tong
University (SJTU) website at
http://www.sjtuce.net/english/01_GI/01_default.htm mentions debating,
but I couldn't locate an actual debate team site.  Also, Shanghai
University is mentioned as participating in debate competitions at
http://www.ntu.edu.sg/corpcomms2/releases/News%2520Release%2520-%2520Intervarsity%2520Debate%2520Tournament.pdf
but I could not locate a phone number for that university.

I also located the public CV of a Chinese lady who started a debate
club in the states.  By contacting her, you may be able to ascertain
the names of persons she knows in China debate clubs if she is willing
to share that information.
