Question ID: 550506
I am an investment advisor. I have begun writing an investing book for
the public, but due to time constraints, (and lack of discipline!) I
would prefer to have professional help. The ideal candidate would be
someone who has written financial works (books, hopefully) for the
public, but who won't mind the fact that his or her name will NOT be
on the cover of this book. In other words, a ghost writer.

Are you looking for a recommendation of one or more writers, or
instructions on how to find one?

A recommendation would, of course, be great, but I understand that
that would probably be well beyond the scope of what you normally do.
Therefore, a good source for pro financial writers is what I am
looking for. Even better, some efficient way to evaluate the
candidates, as opposed to sifting through mere listings.
Thanks.

Hello mfunds~

A great place to find ghost- and other writers is the Writer's Weekly
website and newsletter, which is circulated to a high number of
professional writers. Place a notice here, and writers will contact
you with their qualifications. Just write a letter to the editor of
Writer's Weekly (Angela Hoy); be sure to include information about
what you want from a writer and how much you're willing to pay. Go to
http://www.writersweekly.com/misc/contact.html for the correct email
address. To get ideas on wording such a job listing, check out the
"Freelance Jobs" section of the most recent Writer's Weekly newsletter
at: http://www.writersweekly.com/markets_and_jobs/001404_03172004.html#jobs

There are also other good sources for seeking professional ghostwriters:

* Sunoasis: http://www.sunoasis.com/ (advertising rates from $100)

* Freelance Writing's job bank:
http://www.freelancewriting.com/forumdir/fjb/index.html  (free of charge)

* The Write Jobs: http://www.writejobs.com/jobs/ (advertising rates from $45)

In addition, here are several good sources to check out for ghostwriting:

? Kevin Miller is an experienced business and financial ghostwriter (

? Mark Graham Communications links professional ghostwriters with
folks like yourself; all writers are professionals (

One final source to either advertise with or find additional writers
from is Elance.com. The last two sources mentioned above, come from
this source. The following link will take you to the current search
