this comprehensive listing of Washington State Legislators from 1889
through 2001.

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and read this file.
However, I did a quick search of the document, and there was no one
named "Gelwick" who appeared.

You can also contact the Washington State Archives
http://www.secstate.wa.gov/archives/?m=undefined
They have a search feature, and I could not find any records for
"Gelwick." However, you can phone them at 360/586-1492, and ask them
to do research for you regarding your family member. They do charge
for their services.
