Is there a sure fire recipe for transferring VHS to DVD or CD? I do

Hi,

the most reasonable way would be to record the "old" tapes via
VHS-Player to an DVD-Recorder. Both connected to your TV-Set.

I experienced often synchronous problems while converting old TV-Tapes
with my PC and a TV-Tuner Card. DVD-Recorder are optimized for only
one task and so much more realiable.

For example, here in Germany, DVD-Recorders are sold at 99,-- EUROS.

Please tell me whether, that was your question. Thanks in advance.

Cheers.
