Howdy jojofriedman-ga,

Would scanning the documents with a copmuter and scanner, versus
photocopying them, be an alternative? If not, would scanning the
photocopies, then scanning them and then printing them with the
Bates number be an alternative? If so, then there would appear
to be a solution wherein you could apply Bates bunbers to those
scanned documents. Would the above work for you? Thanks!

I work in a law office where we bate stamps all the medical records we
receive in order to create timelines, etc. While there is no copy
machine that will bate stamp for you, I can direct you to bate stamp
supplies in order for you to hand stamp all the documents. Would this
suffice as an answer?

Apologies jojofriedman-ga,

Not for photocopies, but how's about (scanning and/or PDFs seem to be the key):

I work for a litigation support company and a a suite that we use is
called IPRO (http://www.iprocorp.com) they make a program called copy
plus which when paired with a compatable copier can do what you are
looking for. as far as i know about a stand alone device i dont know
if that is possable.

for this setup to work best you would need a:

Compatable copier
Windows PC
and i would recomend a touchscreen which would make the use of the
program 100x easier being that the interface is designed for
touchscreen use, however you can use it with a keyboard and mouse if
you so wanted

that is the pdf info for copyplus

hope this helps

Xerox has copiers that can add bates numbers to your documents! Not
all models have this feature but some do e.g. Xerox Workcentre Pro
245.

Call your local Xerox dealer or 1-800-ASK-XEROX or 1-800-275-9376 for
more information.
