I am looking for a list of the best fine jewelry markets.

Ideally it would specify the zip codes of the areas that spend most on
jewelry, but a correlated list would do as well. By that I mean if
there exists a strong correlation between say Prada and Channel sales
to fine jewelry, then where Prada sales best would do. (But Prada is
much too fashion forward to apply).

I am looking for LOCAL markets. So LA and NYC, doesn't help. Upper
East Side would.

The second part of the research involves local publications in these
areas. Either print or popular websites. I realize this is much more
involved, and maybe should be a separate question.

If the price is insufficient for the question please let me know.

It would be hard to imagine that the Forbes list of the 150 wealthiest
zip codes in the US:

http://www.forbes.com/lifestyle/2005/04/22/cx_sc_0426homep.html?boxes=custom

isn't closely correlated with fine jewelry sales.

What do you think?

As for strictly local publications in these areas, obviously, it would
be too much to ask to track down publications in 150 separate zip
codes.

Besides, I'm not sure the wealthiest folks in the nation are
necessarily reading local publications for information about jewelry
and other luxury items, but may turn to more broad-scale publications
(Forbes amongst them) for information.

In any event, the question about publications is probably best posted
as a separate question, after your first question has been answered to
your satisfaction.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed.

I am really looking for a specificaly corrlated list and one with lots
of detail too.

How would you suggest i break up the question? My fear is that i get
stuck with only the first part, and that would be quite useless.

Thanks,

Ariel

arielny-ga,

I'm not quite sure HOW you should structure your question. It would
help to understand a bit about what you're after, here.

Clearly, you are looking for local level information on fine jewelry.
But what sort of information?

The best thing I can think of would be data on the presence of upscale
jewelry shops in specific neighborhoods? Tiffany's has 4 stores in
New York, for instance, and dozens more throughout the US.

Would a list of these locations help?

If not, what sort of information would best meet your needs? The more
specific you can describe what you need (and why you need it!), the
better we can target our research.

As for local publications/websites...as I said earlier, I'm not sure
there really are very many such things that operate on a strictly
local basis. Hig class jewelry is advertised in, say, New Yorker
magazine, but -- despite it's name -- it's more of a national than a
local publication.

However, if you can give us a few examples of what you're after,
again, that would be a great help.
