I am starting a business that will require scientific research in the
field of nanotechnology. In an effort to attract and maintain a high
quality team of scientists I would like to offer incentives in the
form of profit sharing and royalties, based on the revenues generated
by any inventions or discoveries that an inventor (or a team of
inventors) produce. I am attempting to build a compensation structure
that is more attractive than similar programs currently offered by
various corporations that emphasize research and development in the
sciences (i.e.; nanotech, biotech, pharmaceutical, electronics, etc.)
Specifically, I would like the researcher to provide a description of
inventor compensation programs (inventor award programs) from at least
12 corporations (the majority of which are public, from start-up to
small to large) that are designed to compensate an inventor of a
product that produces revenue for their company. This compensation
can be in the form of a bonus, profit or revenue sharing, royalty
payments, or equity in the company, but should be clearly linked to a
reward for the specific invention, as opposed to a normal profit
sharing payment for good corporate earnings. Please identify the
corporations used and all sources of information. |
