I can't track down any "BMB Connector Company". Is it surely "BMB" or
might it be "SMB"? Or are you looking for a connector to match the
mini-USB socket on a BMB-series mainboard (also known as motherboard
or CPU card)?

Is there any equivalent which would be acceptable? All mini-USB
connectors should be compatible, so perhaps you have a special reason
for seeking one from BMB.

Dear eiffel-ga,

I came up with the same information, but you have confirmed it. My
conclusion is the BMB is a Motherboard house, but I cannot find their
web page or any contact information. Can you provide the contact
information to the BMB Mother Board company.?

There are a number of incompatible mini-USB connectors, because the
industry could not decided on what connector to use and many companies
just "did it."

Thanks,

Don

Maniac,

The reason that I believe there is a BMB company because I have a
drawing with BMB connector on it, and have come across referrences to
a BMB cpu mother board company (aimed at industry), BUT I CAN'T FIND
THE COMPANY'S CONTACT INFORMATION. If you can't find this information
then I think that the question is not asnwered, though not through
your fault. BMB may not be on the WEB.

That it is violation of the USB standard makes no difference to me or
the vendor I am dealing with. They just must not claim USB
compatibility, which is of no consequence for industrial applications.

Regards.

Don

Dear donchicoine,

The contact details for the company that makes a BMC model motherboard
is:

Formosa USA. Inc.
21540 Prairie Street, Unit A Chatsworth, CA 91311, U.S.A.
Tel: +1-818-407-4965
Fax: +1-818-407-4966
http://www.goformosa.com
E-mail: formosausa@aol.com

http://www.formosa21.com/contact/contact.htm

However, it doesn't look very hopeful as a source of connectors, they
seem to only promote finished products.

_________

So long as the pinout and form factor are the same as the BMB
connector... I would expect that you would be able to use a
substitute. Isn't it the same problem as in the serial world: DB25,
DB9, Mini DIN 8, RJ45 are all used with the OEM's idea of "standard"
pinout.

Perhaps looking at some online catalogs would help???

I, or another researcher would be happy to help you find a suitable
substitute. Are you searching for a connector to make a cable or a
connector to solder to a motherboard? Do you only need 1 or are you
going to be manufacturing quantities?
Let us know if you would like further help.

you wish to change your question eg find a substitute part)

Hello donchicoine,

I did a quick check at www.usb.org (the USB standards organization)
and found a moderately sized file describing the mini-USB connector
standard. Since the drawings for mini-USB are dated 2000 it is most
likely your vendor used the standard connector if they are claiming
USB compliance. If not, they are likely in violation of the license
agreements to use the USB logo.

For reference, check...

If this is the kind of information you are looking for, please let me
know so I can answer your question completely.
