Did Elzac ever make any all copper bonnet head brooches? I have one
that looks just EZACTLY like an Elzac, but it is very plain with an
oval bonnet and has red lips. The face features are the same as Elzac.
I have a picture. It is very old. Just nothing fancy about it. Thank
you.

Hello ltemple-ga,

Here are some Elzac copper bonnet brooches. They're all rather plain
but none of them have painted lips. It also appears that the head and
the bonnet are of different materials in each case. Are you asking if
Elzac made brooches that both the face and the bonnet were made of
copper? Please clarify what information you're looking for? Also, it
would help if you could post a link to a picture of your pin. If
you're not using a photoposting site, http://www.photobucket.com is a
good place to use. I look forward to your clarification.

How do I get the picture posted now? What steps do I take? I looked at
your picture and the face is surely the same to me. I would like you
to see this one. Can I get your email or is it allowed? I can give you
mine and you can email me if it's ok. I can send the picture that way
in seconds. I do see that the bonnets and heads are all different in
your pictures. I wonder if he first started and made a couple with
copper head and bonnet? I could be wrong, but the face is amazingly
alike and age would be about the same time. Thank you for answering
and hope to hear back.

Hello again ltemple-ga,

No. You can't send the picture. You have to post it to a publicly
accessible website and provide the URL. Here's a previous question
where a customer posted their photos to photobucket.

Hello again ltemple-ga,

Here are the links to your photobucket album and the two pictures you've posted.

I can see why you think your pin might be an Elzac. I'm not convinced
but I haven't been able to find anything that clearly defines how to
recognize and Elzac. (Interesting incidental discovery -- The creators
of Elzac went on to found Mattel and brought us Barbie. I think I see
the resemblance. ;-)

Here are some additional Elzac bonnet head pins and also some heads
from the Victims of Fashion line. I'm not sure where to go from here.
What information would you consider a satisfactory answer to your
question?

I look forward to your clarification.

Elzac: The Elzac Inc. Manufacturing company was founded in Los Angeles

featured ceramic, Lucite, feathers, etc. - materials used due to the
shortages of conventional materials during World War II. In 1943 they
started their Black Magic line which featured jewelry that was mostly
black in color. Ceased operations circa 1947.

I'm satisfied you are probably right after reading your information.
This came in a lot of jewelry that was donated to raise money for an
Indian tribe in Montana, I believe. It was on ebay. There were all
sorts of things from old Mexican jewelry, very nice jewelry, to just
plain junk. I've had this over a year with a few other pieces. I do
thank you for all of your help. I thought I may have had a treasure.
You never know !!!!
