I have a lot of people that come to my office and expect to see a
ultra cool, ultra hip, ultra techie place. It is not.

In order to achive this, I have done the following.

- Got 2 lava lamps and a glitter lamp.
- Got some neon rods to put inside the computer case.
- Got a X10 lamp moduel and a module for my coffie maker, so I can
turn them on via an infrared remote.

What else can I do that wouldn't cost a bundle, but would make the
place look techie and cool.

Dear sherpaj:

Funny you should ask this. I was just browsing for some new speaker
wires for my Klipsch 2.1s and I found the ultimate office geek mod. I
am doing this for my dorm room next year. This will blow your neon
rods out of the water, and it's a darn impressive sight to anyone.

You know those cool visualization plugins for your Winamp? How about a
real life physical visualization doityourself mod that not only looks
amazing, but is dirt cheap? Check this out:

Ultimate Surround Sound Light Show

"So, you have the speakerZ, you have the 4000+ MP3 collection, and you
have a kick arse computer, what is missing you say... I say, LightZ!
Click here to learn how to make your own ultimate visualization for
only $20! Worth taking a look at for sure.

These lights are sound sensitive! They move bright to dim to off with
the music. A great special effect, when just a computer
visualization. will not do justice to the music! Here are pics that
show what you can get out of this. (NOTE: The price for one light is
~$20, but to have three, look at paying $25 more)"

If there's one thing that'll knock the visitors to your office outta
their socks and forever enshrine you in their minds as the ultimate
techie, this has to be it.

I hope this helps!

Best Regards,

Consider checking out www.geek.com. It's not a store but a gathering
place for geeks.
