I am looking for a hollow, 5 foot long exercise bar and can't find
one. Can you help me locate. It is an exercise bar, body bar, body
toning bar. All of these are words used to describe them but I cannot
find any that are NOT weighted.

I asked a friend who's a personal trainer about this and reads all the excercise
catalogs. She said she's never seen one, unless you mean the bars
where you can screw different size weights on the ends of the bar, but
those aren't hollow.
If you want a bar with no weight, why not get a long tube of hollow bamboo?

Something like bamboo would not be strong enough, or should I say
would flex and bend under the weight of ones arms with the bar on your
shoulders and your arms on each end of the bar, while doing waist
bends and the such.

Hi donaldjg,

I had an excercise bar made for me. Basically, what I did was go to
Home Depot and purchase a hollow metal strong bar. Long enough to
place between an archway, but it could have been used between a
doorway, or supported against a wall.

The bar was strong, and wide enough around for me to grab onto with my
hands, use as a ballet bar with my feet, and also if I wanted to I
could hang from it.

Metal supports were then placed on either side of the archway wall.
These supports had the bar setting into it nice and tight when dropped
in, but could easily be moved to higher support heights if I wanted.
I had a total of 3 support heights which enabled me to use it for
various strenthening or ballet exercises. It worked out quite nicely.

Best regards,
tlspiegel
