In our town, the newest University of California is opening up this fall. It is UC Merced. UC Merced will be akin to UC Berkeley, UCLA, etc. Our housing has gone up tremendously, as has other parts of California, but the word is, since the new university is here to stay and due to have 50,000 students and staff by 2025, there is no housing bubble here. I would like ideas or websites or studies of how similar towns (if any) have made money in a situation like this. I would like to know what businesses could successfully be started up to make money in this economic client. The population is 70,000. I have $30,000 available to invest so I am actually looking for business opportunities for myself along with the general interest of knowing where our community's economic direction is heading, if history repeats itself. |

Every college town seems to have: Kinko's, cafes, bookstores, bars, hip clothing stores. Since the new campus will be close to the mountains and the big reservoir lakes for water recreation I would think a sports and outdoor recreation equipment store might be good. |

You can give the terraces , the hall on rent the purpose of marraiges , parties , functiions ,etc. Because people usually find large hall ,terraces to celebrate thier birthday parties , marraiges ,etc. And the expenditure would be enough for some temporary changes required for the time its on rent I suggest you this idea beacause the people population is good for functions and people even find places like this. |
