I would like to find resources on and off the web that will help me see real estate price trends in a given area. I am not a realtor so I probably would not have access to the multible listing service. What I am envisioning is a map with colors showing the different ranges of prices for different types of real estate. Example: vacant land subdivided into waterfront, lakefront, no waterfront. I own a software copy of Map Point and could utilize that with the appropbiate data. Another place to start with might be Google Earth. |

Without using the MLS, property tax records are a good way to chart sales data. Typically, the property tax info will list transactions and sales data. Some municipalities have this information online allowing you to search by date. Additionally, there are websites such as njtaxmaps.com or etaxmaps.com that make this search a lot easier. What city/county/state are you looking for? |
