I have noticed that Google is saving words that I used to do searches.
For example, if I previously did a search putting in 'Maria
Tartaglia', when I start typing Maria Tartaglia again for a new search
at a later time, a box opens showing that I previously did the search
so that I can click on it and save the retyping time. I want it to
stop doing this and I want my previous searches deleted. How can I do
that?

Hi mariatar1234,

Follow the procedures below to clear the search history of previous searches:

"In Internet Explorer 5 or higher, select "Tools" from the menu, then
"Internet Options" and then choose the "Content" tab. Next, look for
the button at the bottom that says "AutoComplete." Click on the button
which will make the AutoComplete Settings window appear. In it, click
on the "Clear Forms" button to delete all your stored form entries."

"If you are a Google Toolbar user, the techniques above won't work to
remove your past searches from the toolbar. Instead, you'll need to
click on the Google logo next to the Google Toolbar's search box, then
choose "Clear Search History" from the drop-down box that appears."

Removing a particular query in the list of past searches:

Click once in the search box and get a "drop down" box to appear,
listing all the things you've searched for in the past. Alternatively,
you can start typing a query, and you'll be shown any queries that
contain the first letters that you've typed.

"Use the arrow keys on your computer keyboard to highlight the
particular entry. Alternatively, highlight the entry using your mouse
but don't click on it. Next, once the entry has been highlighted, push
the "Delete" button on your computer keyword. The entry should
disappear."

Thank you.

I did what you said which did get rid of the record of my searches at
the point of entry into the search box. However, the prior searches
still seem to be highlighted in the following section which gives me
the choices that my search parameters have generated. Therefore,
there is still some record of my prior searches.

How do I get rid of those?

After having done everything posted in my answer and past searches
still come up, try this:

1) Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools
2) Click on Internet Options
3) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
4) You may also want to check the box "Delete all offline content"
5) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it
deletes the temporary internet files
6) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies
that websites have placed on your hard drive.

To clear the Internet History in IE:

1) Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools
2) Click on Internet Options
3) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Clear History
4) Click OK

Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Best regards,
Rainbow
