Question ID: 552784
Where can I get royalty free quilling patterns from? Ideally they
would come with a picture or photo of the finished quilling item along
with a set of instructions for how to create it. The quilling patterns
must not breach any copyright, but if anyone is willing to allow their
own patterns to be used for my own commercial purposes thats OK too.
Please note quilling
is a paper craft and has nothing to do with quilting. I would like the
responses in 7 to 14 days.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. However, only 2 of the 5 (craft
creations & lake city) sites you suggested fitted my criteria. i.e.
they must be royalty free and therefore no restrictions on me using
their designs. 2 of the sites (nancy & card insp) state I cannot use
their patterns for commercial purposes, and the 5th site is not
patterns but just the basic shapes.

Can you come up with some more sites please as $30 seems a lot to pay
for only 2 sites which I can actually use. I'm prepared to wait 7 to
14 days. Thanks

Hi,
Did you look at the CraftCreations link? There are at least 39 (thirty
nine) designs that you can use, hand make and sell as many as you like
- royalty free. The only restriction is that you don't actually
reproduce their printed material.
For each design they have a complete list of materials required,
detailed instructions and vivid photos of the finished artwork.

Please take a look again of two examples from that website:
http://www.craftcreations.co.uk/pages/magazines/issues/pdf/issue30/summerbouquet.pdf
http://www.craftcreations.co.uk/pages/magazines/issues/pdf/issue31/candlewreath.pdf

Keep in mind that despite the generosity to be found across the WWW,
not that many artists and craftsmen are willing to post their designs
as royalty free for others to copy and make money from.

In my honest opinion 41 free designs to copy or reproduce works out at
$1.37 per design - that is not bad for such handicraft.

Please let me know if I can be at further assistance.
Regards,
Landog-ga

I'm still slightly confused. Can I copy their patterns (text and
pictures) without changing anything, to give away from my own site?

You can copy the design, but not the actual photo or their text.

This means you have to make the actual design (based on their
instructions), take your own photos, write up your own instructions
(maybe rephrase from the original) and then bring all of this together
for your own use: webpage, printed article etc.
But again, the designs themselves are indeed royalty free.

Sorry - my math was off - $0.73 per design.
