While living in Spain I noticed that the Guardia Civil police wore a
leather tricorn hat made of leather. I am looking for a place or
individual that sells the Spanish Guardia Civil Tricorn Hat.

Ola Garylee,

I have been able to find only 2 of these hats on Spanish aution
sites. Both say they will ship internationally.

This Spanish language aution site has a Spanish Guardia Civil
tricornio for 45 Euros.
"Normal (con señales de uso normal)" = In normal condition with
normal wear and tear apparent
http://www.todocoleccion.net/lote.cfm?Id_Lote=1502809

Here is another for 60 Euros
"Muy bueno (nuevo o como nuevo, sin señales de uso)" = Very good
condition, new or like new, with no sign of wear.

Will these suffice?

Sorry I haven't responded earlier. My computer was inoperable. Your
research was great. I may have to repeat this process unless I can
find someone who can help me complete the transaction since I'm not
fluent in Spanish. The hat for 60 euros is perfect if I can figure
out to complete the sale on the hat. Thanks.

Hi Garrylee,

I can help you order the hat. I have written the sellers asking how
best to conduct the transaction. I thought perhaps you spoke Spanish
since you had traveled to Spain.

I'll post when I hear back!

Could you please provide your city, state and zipcode so the seller
can tell me about how much the shipping costs are?

Don;t post your address or phone, or e-mail, just city, state and zipcode!

Once I hear, you will have to make the transaction, but I can post the
directions in English for you. It is not diffiuclt.

Hi Garylee, I have heard back from the hat that is in better shape,
the 60 Euro one. The seller guestimated shipping to be about 18 Euros.
Once you are registered, let me know!

Greetings Garylee,

I have received another email from the tricornio hat vendor ( I did
not actually hear from the hat as I indicated in my last
clarification!).

The one below, for 60 Euros, like new:
http://antiguedades-tecnicas-maquinillas-hojas-afeitar.vender-coleccionismo.com/lote.cfm?Id_Lote=1376362

The seller has indicated he speaks a bit of English. Since I have told
him about you somewhat, he is anxious for you to make contact with
him. If you have already signed up for the Spanish site above, you can
go ahead and contact him by clicking the link just above.

Once you are registered, your PC cookies should automatically sign you
in when you click on the above link. If not, enter your screen name
and password. Then conduct your transaction with the seller.

If you need further assistance is communicating with him, simply ask
for an Answer Clarification, and I will be glad to help out.

Good Luck! Buean Suerte!

Regards, Crabcakes.

What does the following mean?
El Lote que estás tratando de ver ya no está en el Catálogo
Quizás el vendedor lo ha retirado de la venta, o bien ya ha sido vendido
Does it mean that the seller has sold the item?

Hi Garylee,

You probably registed correctly. I get the same message when I try
to see the hat now. Apparently the aution is over. I will contact the
seller, if possible, or look on the site for another.

You'll have to act quickly if I locate another!

I posted my last clarification below, in the comments, in error!

Garylee,

There are several tricornios for auction here. See which you like,
and send the seller a brief note in English, and see if they speak
any. If not, post here what you want to say and I will assist you.

Remember, Enviar Correo or correo is email
Pulse aqui is click here

I understand your frustration with the language difference. Many
people in Europe speak English. Try to conduct your transaction in
English. Let me know!

Argh... in case that link gave you an error message, enter this word
in the search box , to the right of the magnifying glass

tricornio and click the Buscar button. Up will pop the list of
hatds available now. The link I posted seems to give me the error
message, but entering your search term should work.

I apologize for the round-about way this transaction is going, but I
believe you will eventually get your hat!

Sincerely, Crabcakes

Just wanted to let you know that I finally got one of the hats. I was
able to locate one in England and thus no language barrier. I'm not
sure how we clear out my original request, but I hope you got your
money. Thanks.

Yes, it says the item has been removed from the list. Perhaps the
seller has removed it from sale, or it has been sold.

The seller assured me he had it, but perhaps in the delay in
responding, it has sold. I will contact him again.
