What is the name of the organization that operates the North American
version of the employment blacklist? This organization is the North
American equivalent of the defunct British organization called the
Economic League . A description of the Economic leagues blacklist
operations is available at

Dear curious27,

All I found was the Department of the Treasury's "Specially Designated
Nationals (SDN) List". Employers who want to get government funds are
forbidden to employ any of the persons on the list:
http://www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/sdn/

However, that is not the same as a general blacklist of "undesirable"
persons. Are you certain that such a list exists? It sounds like a
typical rumor from the conspiracy theories department to me.

It could be a rumour from the conspiracy theories but it isn't. I
don't expect the information to be easily available unless you have
specific knowledge. I may have to up the ante and award more money but
I started at 25. Try the link I gave and read what it says. An
equivalent organization is doing the same in North America and perhaps
worldwide. A tip may be justified.

If a person writes or talks about conspiracy theories they are
considered somewhat paranoid unless it can be proven - then they are
not paranoid but justified - that is what my $25 is supposed to do.

I could go into details of my case but I won't.

Just as the Economic League in the UK is defunct (along with its
blacklist), so is the blacklist in the US, as far as I know.

There were certainly blacklists during the Red-baiting McCarthy-era in
the 1950's, and Richard Nixon (and probably a few subsequent
Presidents) were reputed to keep certain blacklists.

But I haven't really come across any indications of widespread
blacklists of recent vintage that sprang from US government
activities.

Is your question referring to defunct lists of past decades?

I am not asking about government organizations in particular although
they may have a hand in it but it is not expected by me. I also am not
concerned with terrorist type lists that have appeared of late. I am
talking about an employment blacklist for people labled as
undesireable/do not hire by business owners/managers/HR people . . . I
am reluctant to write what may have put people on the list but the
reasons would be similar to the reasons for being put on the economic
league's blacklist.

I am not interested in long defunct lists. I am interested
specifically in a list or system in operation now or in the recent
past. I have some interest back to the 80's but really I am interested
in 1990 and later.

I expect the current list will be confidential - again specific
knowledge will help find this answer.

Note: $25 is for a believable (by me) answer, $100 if proof is
acceptable to me, Share of proceeds if proof acceptable to a suitable
court judge.
