How many ships pass through the major shipping lanes of the world each
month/year? Please answer as specifically as possible and include your
sources and how recently the data was updated. A breakdown by ship
type (LNG tanker, bulk container, etc) would be fantastic. In
particular, I would like figures for:

The Arabian Sea
The Bay of Bengal
The Black Sea
The Carribean Sea
East African Sea Lanes (from S. of Gulf of Aden to S. Africa)
Gulf of Guinea
Indonesian Waters
Malacca Straits
Mediterranean Sea
Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman
Red Sea and Guld of Aden
South China Sea exc. Indonesia
West African waters (from Morocco to S. Africa)
Panama Canal
