Dont become a god, it's impossible! and I don't think that dogs have
dug up the cable.
there are so much answers for your question :
The error message that you get, is actually a DNS error.
these are possible solutions:
1- Go to network properties and see if TCP/IP is set up to get DNS
servers automatically. You can see which DNS servers you are configured
with by using winipcfg program.
2- try pinging. If Ping in DOS doesn't work then faffing with
Internet Explorer won't make any difference as IE operates at a higher
level
To get Ping to work if nothing is apparently wrong you need to
reinstall network services (network neighbourhood et al). It is often
easier to reinstall the OS.
3- Your ISP might have incomplete routing info for the site you requested.
You can preempt that info on your own computer. If you're using Windows,
start Notepad. Click on File > Open and go to your Windows directory
(c:\winnt usually for Win2k users). Go to the subdirectory
system32\drivers\etc and open the file named hosts . Add the
following line:
the ip of your site url of your site
such as :
66.235.193.41 www.yoursite.com
Save the file before exiting. If you're still having problems, add
the subdomain right before the domain name, such as
"subdomain.yoursite.com".
(Note: On Win2k the usual full location for hosts is
c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts .)
4- follow this path

Restart the computer and Try again
Do you have any antivirus software or firewalls?
If so disable them and try again.
Malware can also cause page cannot be displayed. Try downloing mozilla
from another computer and seeing if it works on this computer.
Find another computer with an internet connection and a cd burner
get a blank cdr On this computer go to www.mozilla.com
click on free download
It will ask you to open or save....choose save
save it to the desktop or another location where you can find it
The file should be firefox_setup_1.0.6.exe
Burn this file to a cd
Bring it home place the cd in your cd rom
Click on start
double click on my computer
Double click on the cd rom drive (most likely d drive)
double click on the setup file
Walk through the mozilla installation
restart the computer
reconnect to the internet
open up mozilla firefox on your desktop
see if it allows you to view web pages.
if the above answeres can not solve the problem, tell me kind of your
computer (cpu,ram, OS , etc)
best wishes. |
