I use Sound Forge 6.0 & Total Recorder 5.1. to make and edit audio files: 1) Why are Sound Forge files twice as large, and 2) How can I convert without re-recording with Total Recorder. | |

Hi ! >1) Why are Sound Forge files twice as large Make sure, when you are generating mp3 file, the mp3 compression settings used. Usually, a 128kbit/s rate with join Stereo is enough. Sound Forge default settings are probably using a higher bit rate. >2) How can I convert without re-recording with Total Recorder. Instead of using Total Recorder, and if you can't change compression setting using Sound Forge 6.0 (version that I don't really know), you can use an audio resampler software that will decompress MP3 files and recompress using different compression settings.
