Hi !
On windows XP, adress books are located in that folder :
C:\documents and settings\loggin\application data\microsoft\address book\
Where loggin is the loggin you are using to open your windows session
if you don't know your loggin, just click into :
Start menu / Settings / Control Panel / User account
You will have the list of existing account on your machine
1) go into the address book folder given above using Windows Explorer
2) check that you have a "loggin.wab" file inside that folder
3) open that file using notepad or any text editor
4) search inside the file for the name of the folder that has
disappeared. Note that you have to insert one space charater between
each charater of the name of the disappeared folder.
5) If the text editor can't find any occurence in the file, that means
the folder as been deleted using Outlook express itself. And you have
poor chances to recover deleted data, unless you have not done any
changes to your address book since it was deleted and you probably can
recover deleted data from the "loggin.wa~" file in the same folder as
the "loggin.wab" file.
6) If the text editor finds some occurences, then data are still there
and you can recover partial data just by reading the file (note that
blank spaces are always inserted between characters). This can be done
by switching your computer off without closing all applications
before. If you have lot of address to recover, just send me the file
and i'll recover data for you.
Hope this will help !
