In what P.G. Wodehouse story does one find the notion of the
"synthetic Southerner" (or some similar phrase): a Yankee with a rebel
fetish who becomes emotional at the sight or sound of anything from
Dixie?

Is there anything else you remember about the story? Any other
details, no matter how small, may help.

Best regards,
Rainbow

I seem to recall some description about what this character does ...
something perhaps about a "rebel yell," or becoming misty-eyed when
hearing "Dixie." I believe this was a minor passage of about a
paragraph or so, in one of the actual books as opposed to a collection
of stories. I also believe that the action took place in the USA as
opposed to UK ...

Thanks!
