Some of the lyrics include "I've got no place to go, I'm alone in this
big city, would you be a friend to me? See it was so long ago, I was
working hard everyday, then my life would finally change." It is a
woman basically talking about being homeless, etc. Give or take a
word or two in the lyrics. Thank you.

Hello.

The song is "No Place To Go" by Perri. It came out in 1989.

The lyrics "Baby,, I've got no place to go, I'm alone in this big
city" may be clearly heard in a sound clip of the song (Track #6 on
Perri's Anthology CD) available at Amazon Germany:
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006IGIRK/

The CD is also available on Amazon.com:

Vinyl at MusicStack.com:

-----
search strategy:
google: "got no place to go" "big city"
musicstack.com title: "no place to go"

Thanks.
