I am doing research on Yoshisaburo Okakura and Sanki Ichikawa. They are both approximately 100 years past scholars of English literature. They compiled a list of English literature containing 100 books they determined are essential to students of the subject here in Japan. I am attempting to relate his chosen material with that of the lists of Cassell's National Library and Macmillan's English Classics. I would like to know the founder, compiler, and editors are of Cassell's National Library and Macmillan's English Classics and other relevant information, if any such exist, to that of the list compiled by Yoshisaburo Okakura and Sanki Ichikawa.
