Dear onlinebiz03,
I advise not to do any business with Oryshop, Inc. My research
revealed the following facts that are very suspicious:
1.
I checked who the owner of the domain "oryshop.com" is. It turned out
that the domain is registered with a domain provider in New Zealand,
with the following ownership data:
Registrant:
ory
890 Huntington Drive
Highlands Ranch, N/A N/A
NZ
Administrative Contact:
Wagner, Lori daki@e-clubbing.com
890 Huntington Drive
Highlands Ranch, N/A N/A
NZ
+1-303-6838105
That address is fake. According to the official gazetteer, there is no
place called "Highlands Ranch" anywhere in New Zealand. And, as
research showed, while there are three streets named Huntington Drive
in that country, none of them has a #890. The telephone number
+1-303-6838105 is not a New Zealand number at all. Actually, it is
303-683-8105, an unlisted US telephone number. Local code and prefix
303-683 belong to Highlands Ranch (!), Colorado.
Why would a reputable Indonesian company register their domain in New
Zealand, using a fake New Zealand address with a US phone number? This
is most suspicious.
2.
On their website, Oryshop claims that they were "founded in Medan,
Indonesia in 1994". However, the domain was only registered on 21
December 2004. It's highly unlikely that they waited 10 full years
before they obtained a .com domain. And, even more suspicious: The
domain will expire on 21 December 2005. What reputable company
registers their domain for only one year? Companies that claim to be
in business for quite a long time but have very young domains are
extremely often frauds. This is very likely a "disposable" domain
needed only for a short time by the persons behind it.
3.
On the website of Oryshop, I found this:
"DUE TO MANY FRAUD , WE NO LONGER ACCEPT OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT
BESIDE TELEGRAPHIC TRANSFER (T/T) IN ADVANCE."
This is a typical feature of scams and frauds. The customer does not
know where is money is actually going, and he has no chance of calling
it back. Reputable companies have other ways of payment. Especially if
they are, as Oryshop claims, in business for over 10 years.
4.
A quick Google search for "Oryshop" led to only 47 hits, most of them
self-penned entries in business directories. One should assume that
after 11 years in business, a company would have been mentioned a bit
more often. Obviously, the "company" is not older than their domain
registration.
5.
And finally, the Indonesian Yellow Pages do not list that company at all.
For those reasons, I recommend to be very cautious and to not do any
business with Oryshop.
Regards,
Scriptor
