I would like to know how to use my Garmin Forerunner 301 as the source
for GPS signals to Microsoft Autoroute, so that I can navigate, in
real-time, using my computer.

In order to configure your GPS receiver for use with AutoRoute, its
input/ output format must be set to support the NMEA 0183 version 2.0
or later format.
It should be configured to use COM port 20 or less
