I should probably leave this for your cousin researcher, Bobbie7, but
none of the newspapers have any of the musical notes in the chord
B-D-F in their names.

It is a rather negative connection, but a chorus made up of natives of
the cities would have to have a serious discussion about common
pronunciation.
Also, the name for the natives of each place are unusually different
from the cities' names:  Glaswegians, Manchurians (not sure about that
;), Oxonians, and Angelenos.
