I have an old waffle iron--circa 1926-- that a local appliance store tested and says still works. However, its separate cord is missing, and this dealer says he cannot order one. The prongs on the iron are flat, rather than round. Some time ago, the NYTimes had an article on an appliance repair business in the city that specialized in old appliances. Can you find the name of that business--or any source for such a cord? |

Dear mendy9, Through the New York Times archive [1], I managed to find the article on the repair business specialized in antique electric applicances. Here is contact information: Twentieth Century Appliance Restorations Mike Arnold 49 Christie Street Troy, NY 12180 -- Phone: 518-272-7916 E-Mail: monitortop@monitortop.com Website: http://www.monitortop.com/ The archived New York Times article from 15 July 2004 is only available to subscribers; however, here is an abstract of it at Apartment Therapy: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/main/archives/000661.html Mike Arnold should be able to solve your problem, as he states on his website: "Appliances, electronics, parts and more. Inventory changes daily. If I don't have, I'll get it, rebuild it or replicate it!" Hope this will help!
